At least they require an RPT status.That's good!   Looks like a lot of 
travel time to get to towns with pianos, however, since this is only 20 
hour/week job.  Benefits are good, also a very important good thing. Might 
be good for a new RPT in that area willing to drive a bunch to make a 
living... Lake Oboboji area will have some pianos....as well as other 
towns, but miles will be driven.....

We just went to Lake Okoboji for some vacation time, but, towns are few 
and far between there, and UNI looks like about 2 hours away.  Just for 
fun, I looked in the yellow pages for L.O, and there were ZERO Piano 
Techs! Lots of money there, so there are sure to be some pianos!  Perhaps, 
with a 40-50mpg car, one could make a bunch of $$ if willing to drive a 
bunch....Been there, done that! No thanks! Lake Okoboji is, btw a great 
place to hang out!  I even got brave enough to parasail!  Loved it!

Piano Maintenance Technician & Coordinator , School of Music 

Serves as the head technician for all pianos in the School of Music;
develops and institutes a long-term plan for ongoing maintenance and
replacement of all pianos; confers with faculty, students and visiting
artists relative to tuning and special needs for tuning and tunes pianos 
to
achieve the highest level of musical performance; oversees piano inventory
and associated budget; supervises assistants or contracted staff ensuring
high quality work; and makes recommendations related to industry changes.
Bachelor's degree in Music or related field and professional piano tuning
experience required. Associate's degree in Music or related field and at
least three years of professional piano tuning experience or High School
diploma and at least six years of professional piano tuning experience may
be substituted. Registered Piano Technician (RPT) designation with the 
Piano
Technicians Guild also required. Student experience will be considered.
Experience in a college or university setting supporting the technical 
needs
of music faculty and students preferred. Support of concert needs before 
and
after normal working hours will be necessary. This is a part- time 
position
anticipated to work 20 hours per week. Criminal and other relevant
