[CAUT] New shanks from WNG/boring issues

I'll echo what Ron said. These shanks will split with the slightest provocation. Stiff but brittle. One set of hammers per one set of shanks, i.e. you won't be putting new hammers on these shanks when the hammers are worn out. Maybe you would never do that anyway, but these shanks preclude it whether you like it or not.

 Plan on reaming a bit. If they are bored to spec it's next to impossible to get the supplied glue into the joint. And don't make the mistake I did - thinking you could twist ever so slightly and coax them left or right just a bit. The glue sets up pretty fast and  I split a couple.
