I'll echo what Ron said. These shanks will split with the slightest provocation. Stiff but brittle. One set of hammers per one set of shanks, i.e. you won't be putting new hammers on these shanks when the hammers are worn out. Maybe you would never do that anyway, but these shanks preclude it whether you like it or not. If they are bored to spec it's next to impossible to get the supplied glue into the joint.
