My feeling is that no, they like for the bass to feel more massive and weighty than the treble ... but I have noted in the past that my ideas and their reactions do not always have a one-on-one correspondence. It's one of the good parts of getting to work with excellent pianists, a window into what they perceive when playing, which is not always what we would predict. And who is "they"?
