I understand that the old lists are continuing indefinitely for now, can this be confirmed for the CAUT list? It would be good to see the same posts from Phil Bondi here, as on the pianotech list....Thanks!!!! Pacific Daylight Time Subj: [PTG Pianotech]: RE:Petition to save old pianotech list and express dissastisfaction with new system Hi Richard. Thanks for the kind words. I have taken to not compiling requests..rather I am sending requests as I receive them. This way they don't pile up on me(!) and it stays in the moment for me, and I am speaking for myself. I won't speak for Ron. I did that once and paid the price! There is a release that is due at the end of the month. Their focus for this release has been on speed. There are other items on the list, but I'll be honest and say I don't know enough about the release items to be more specific at his time. Speed has been my burning issue since day one. As soon as I know more so will this list. ------------------------------------------- -phil phil at philbondi.com ------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------- Original Message: Sent: 07-09-2011 16:28 From: Richard West Subject: Petition to save old pianotech list and express dissastisfaction with new system Everything below is good news. Diversity of access is a good thing. As long as we're getting to where we need to be, that's the main thing. It's just too bad that putting out fires after the fact has created some bad karma that will probably not go away for awhile. That said, the site was a major undertaking and I appreciate the magnitude of the work accomplished. I haven't been keeping track, but I presume Ron Berry, Phil Bondi and others are keeping/compiling a list of complaints that will be addressed at the pianotech meeting in KC. I guess what I would like to see at the meeting is a brief summary of the new site's development, i.e., successes and failures and how problems have been, are being, and will soon be addressed. ------------------------------------------- Richard West Lincoln NE 402-477-7198 rwest1 at unl.edu ------------------------------------------- To clarify for others: The old list, pianotech at ptg.org will continue for the foreseeable future. The transfer of archives is scheduled, as planned, for sometime in August. ------------------------------------------- -phil phil at philbondi.com ------------------------------------------- Reply to Sender : http://my.ptg.org/Go.aspx?c=PostReply&GroupId=43&SenderKey=78d7473f-d4cb-41d5-a1b4-a18ea2c3ddc8&MID=220865&MDATE=%3c4%3e47566&UserKe y=047f02fe-dbd2-43af-b501-19d6af1c849a Reply to Discussion : http://my.ptg.org/Go.aspx?c=PostReply&GroupId=43&MID=220865&MDATE=%3c4%3e47566&UserKey=047f02fe-dbd2-43af-b501-19d6af1c849a You are currently subscribed to ptg_pianotechbb as: bdshull at aol.com.
