I would change to wound notes there, the break will be smoother and the tone
will be more musical and blend better.

Ari Isaac.

Subject: [CAUT] partial rescaling of C7

Hello. What are your thoughts on changing to a heavier gauge wire on
the two lowest tenor notes just above the break on a C7? People have
told me they want more tone from them, and what it sounds like to me is
the wire gauge is just a little too light. Perhaps they should have
even been wound strings there. It's a fine piano and I wouldn't be
critical of it myself, but I'm being pressured to see if there is
anything that can be done to make that F and F# more resonant. It's
from 1977 and I wonder if maybe Yamaha themselves have made some slight
changes in that area to the C7 over the years.

Thank you for any suggestions.
Robert
