harpsichord wire

 Where do you get harpsichord wire?  I have been using Zuckermann as a
 source, but the price has gone up and their service doesn't seem as
good lately.  Rose is another name I've heard, but I don't have an address
and it seems to me they don't sell in smaller quantities.

Also does anyone have any hints on how to avoid string breakage in
harpsichords.  We have 4 harpsichords at the University of Nebraska.
Three of them have little problem with string breakage but the fourth
(a Tyre) keeps breaking strings.  I know that builders tend to push
wire to the breaking point to get better tone, but I don't have the time
to keep fixing broken strings.  I've been reducing the strings to the
next lower size and that seems to help.  But are there any other pearls
of wisdom in this regard out there?
