Falconwood Pinblock Problems

When I restring (and repin), I varnish the holes with a gun-cleaning brush
and then cover the pins with talcum powder.  I've just always done it this
way and have never had jumpy pins (even with falconwood blocks).  Does anyone
else use this method?
