Kent Swafford, RPT recently asked about the u-pin, which connects the sostenuto rod to the monkey on S&S grands, coming loose or off completely. I've experienced this only once so far and called S&S about it. At that time, they said to use epoxy to secure the u-pin back into its holes in the sost. rod. I assume this would not be viable if it broke off flush but I've never seen that...yet. I followed their advice and have had no problem with that *one* since (six years and counting).
