I, for one feel that Michael is performing a valuable function in this
discussion.  "The new metrology" has been presented as a scientific method
with data to back it up.  As such it should be subjected to as much scrutiny
as possible to see what can be shaken loose.

I think David Stanwood has done us all a great service with his long hard
work, but we all should understand that good science can only remain valid
in a critical environment.  We should all welcome the lively debate as a way
for *all* of us to expand our understanding of the complex physical system
that is the grand piano action.
