you lyre

Whew! School is out! Yea!

Inspired by the lauds of electric tea kettling
hammers, I decided to go out this morning and
make the big purchase. I thought Bloomington/
Normal had it all (wink), but locating one took
me the better part of the morning. I guess I
should have let my fingers do the walking, but I
hadnt anticipated it to be a problem. There are
a lot of interesting appliances out there--I was
quite taken with the electric egg poacher in the
shape of a chicken. I forgot to check if it clucks
when the eggs are done.

Ah, but now on to business. Any words of advice
on replacing a lyre on a Steinway O? This lyre has
had a number of repairs and it seems that I make a
repair and then a little while later, something else
splits or strips. Thanks!
