I wouldn't use any solutions on Renner Blues. They are very easy to work with and stable if you don't use solutions. Solutions defeat the reasoning behind the Blues. I've installed quite a few sets and had excellant results everytime. They are a full tonal hammer that can easily be reduced in weight and still have a fine sound. If you want the tone brighter: take a layer of felt off. Once you've done a few sets, you can do this accurately before you put them on the shank. If you want it warmer: use the chop stick voicing tool. Best advice: follow the directions that come with the set. Tim Coates
