Rep. Lever Springs

The butterfly spring changes the tension on the jack as well as the rep. lever.
If the pinning of the rep. lever is correct and the spring is free to move
against the rep. lever you will get faster repitition.

Pre. lever pinning is critical in that it needs some friction to function
properly.  Just enough that it can be felt but not so much as to require
pressure to move or not so light that the lever flops around.

The proper technique of adjusting the tenison of the springs is to wind up or
unwind the spring coil in the rep. lever post.  Bending the spring lever arm is
an improper approach.

Almost all action makers use the butterfly spring now and some have an
adjustable spring retainer that screws in our out just like earlier American
actions.
