I recently got Steinway upright #5488 (1862) from a dark basement in San Francisco, with the rosewood cabinet and original strings in pristine condition, needing a bit of action work. It is amazing to look at, 58" tall with long mahogany stickers, agraffes throughout, truly wierd. Is this piano rare (never saw anything like it in 25 years)? It sure sounds nice so far.
