Silicone spray dilemma and ethics

Might not the cure be worse than the disease?  Seems to me that the cost and
risk of removing all traces of silicone spray by whatever means would be far
greater than just leaving it alone.

What rate to charge for what job is not a matter of ethics, it's a matter of
business practice.  Performing a useless task at the behest of an ill-informed
customer without first making every attempt to educate the customer is an
ethical question.
