Avery: My first thought on this matter was not so much the actual work you do, like the regulation, etc, but the time element, and especially the cost involved. When I want to do some additional work on a piano in a customer's home, I have to ask permission. I have to know in advance what I want to do, and how much time it will take to do it, because the first thing the customer is going to ask, is "how much is this going to cost me?. This is a problem you don't have to deal with, when working for the school. Therefore, the thing I would be most interested in, is how much time is it going to take to do a particular proceedure. How much time do you allow to travel and burn hammers, how much time do you allow to set the key bed, etc?. You should presume the technicians in you class are going to know how to do these things, but might not be aware of the time element involved. Good luck with your class, and let us know how it went.
