You can remove the action parts and clamp the rail back togather and check how
well it comes back.  If all is well, use a good quality exposy or Tite Bond and
reclamp.  Use samll pieces of wood (large tooth picks) to clean out the screw
holes.  Allow to dry thoroughtly.  If you mistrust this you can use small
screws to hold it all togather.
