I've had similar problems on newer Samicks and a new Schimmel. One of the Samicks was so tight that I had to pull the back action, repin the underlever flanges, ream out the guide rail bushings, and lube it. Fortunately, it was under warranty and Samick graciously reimbursed me for the work with little cost to my client (Samick made a very good impression on me and my client! - Samick has always been great to deal with!). But, like I suggested in an earlier post, I have used Protek directly on the guide rail bushings to stop squeaks. If you're concerned about over-soaking the guide rail bushings, try soaking a paper towel or cloth and rubbing it along the damper wires. Protek is great stuff, now if I could just find a better tool to apply it. Good luck. John Piesik The Samick I had difficulty with on the "squeaky" pedal turned out to be damper wires squeaking in the guide rail. All I did was rub my oily fingers on the wire and that took care of the squeak. I am, however, not convinced it won't start squeaking again. What would be the "correct" lubrication for this problem?
