>Does anyone know of or have any published material that is in "widespread" >use for teaching such a one semester (or quarter) course to college music >majors? How many of you university piano technicians teach such a course? > >Wally Scherer When I was at Oberlin in the mid 60's (yes, barely in living memory), there was a little one-credit course for piano majors. They worked on one practice Steinway at a time, rebuilding, and also learned basic tuning. I thought it would be _fascinating_, but, no, I "had to practice". :-> Took twelve years to remedy that choice. Maybe Ken Sloane could tell us if there's still a course like that?
