Bent Action Rail

Hi Paul,
We had a Yamaha U-1F fall over on its side arms exactly as you
describe when we moved the school of music. The dampers were all off
the strings in the midsection and there was about one half inch of lost
motion before jacks would touch the butts. For a startled moment I
thought the worst, but then noticed that the hammer rest rail hinge pin
had popped out of the action bracket. When I put it back, the
regulation came back and the dampers all worked. In addition the piano
was still in tune.
I know it was a hard hit by the damage on the front and the testimony of
witnesses but the piano was alright.
