Yamaha has had several specs for bass strings on the P-202 and P-22's. A couple of years ago I restrung the bass on a nearly new P-22 at a local college because of a string breakage problem. When I got there for the job it appeared there had been only one broken string but Yamaha paid me to do the whole job in restringing. Tonally the P-22's are my favorite, I like the way the bass growls. After I restrung with the new set, a different spec. set, I didn't nearly like the tone as much as I did before but evidently the string breakage problem was solved. At least they didn't call me back with problems. I have found that very seldom will Yamaha screw up. I wish I could say the same thing about me.
