Hi all,

I thought I might pass along this tidbit. While tuning a K&C small grand
(Samick) I heard a buzz in the area of the octave above C52 ....... as I
recall around F57 or so ...... that was quite metalic. The first place I
checked was the hinge in the half lid, then the lid alignment thingy, lid
prop, fall board hinges, etc. on and on. Long story short, they use a small
round headed screw on the inside of the stringer, on each end, to keep the
stringer from bouncing around after the plate is installed. The screws are
supposed to be snug against the plate I guess. When they're not, they
buzzzzzzzzzz. I wedged a specifically carved small piece of hammer shank
with some wood glue in betwixt the offending surfaces. The removable trim
piece found on the top back side of the stringer covers it all up.

Salutation follows ......

BEST FISHES AND A FLAPPY NEW YEAR.
