Probably WAS leather. Why not replace with leather? I'd suggest phoning
Richard E. Meyer, 914-457-3834, in New York, and asking his advice. He was
very helpful with leather for bushings when I talked to him, and sent me two
kinds to try.  See his ad in the Journal.
