Looks like once again time lag has made my response today obsolete.  Sorry
about that.

I still wonder though, if replacement agraffes are available, isn't it less
work?

Guess I should have listened when my advisor said I could stress relieve
brass rail.  He was talking about "keeping the cracked tongues from cracking
any further" and I was thinking, the damage is done, what's the point?  Live
and learn.
