Phil,

I think that before atempting anything you have to tell yourself, and
the teacher, that tuning a Steinway and an acrosonic together and like
matching a race horse with a mule;  it is a mistake in starting.  I
would give him a good deal of informations.  I would explain him the
difference in inharmonicity between the two instruments making it so
that you have to compromise either on the octave righntness of one of
the pianos or on the tuning rightness both instruments played along
with each other.

I never had to face that situation but I think I would use the
Steinway tuning for both.  The Acrosonic would never sound quite right
anyway.
