It sounds like a >great idea to me. > >Thanks >Garret Traylor ingredients: two hasps 4 screws (bigger that what comes with the hasp) 2" webbing (get enough to do several pianos) 2" plastic tubing (outside diameter circa 1/2") 10 Pop rivets and washers to match 1 lock Tools: 1 screw driver 1 glue gun and glue Directions: place "receiver" on bass end of keyboard about c1 insert hot glue to keep "receiver" from buzzing fill the plastic tube with hot glue fasten one hasp to end of webbing with four rivets (double over the webbing) place hasp on receiver and thread webbing up and into space between top of fall board and pin block mark with felt marker or in some other manner loop webbing over plastic tubing roll the webbing over the plastic tube and put 2 rivets through the webbing to keep it "in place" add some hot glue so tubing won't slide around. install fall board lock on piano take the loose end of webbing and bring it up over the lid and down side of piano (in the singers curve) bring it under the piano and pull it tight mark the webbing at the receiver and cut it. fasten other hasp to the webbing (remember to double it over) finally install lock and enjoy one easily defeated lock in emergencies.
