Folks,

This whole thread, particularly Clancy's post, reminds me of
discussions with the  people in LA who were the "alte Kachers"
when I was starting out in the 60's.

In those days it was not unusual to be paid to haul away just about
any piano, especially one that looked "old".  The most we ever paid
(before about 1975) was one Mason & Hamlin BB - $250 - BUT, the
customer paid the moving!

'Course, those were the days when Sherman, Clay, et al, carried
about 15 different brands of pianos, and dealers were selling
pianos faster than they could get shipments.

Seems like yesterday...(almost).
