Hi Pat, before I moved here to the UK, I used to do a fair number of
these pianos.
One thing that occassionally happened was that the damper block which is
glued to a wooden dowl with a metal incert for the set screw picks up some
vibration as this metal insert loosens up within the block.
It shows up as a buzz as the damper hits the string, but this doesn't
sound like what you are describing.
Is the buzzing in bass strings?
I have found, in many cases rotating the offending strings in the
direction that the winding points will fix this.
Also, sometimes there's a bit of access glue somewhere causing a
problem.
Quite often, letting the string down briskly, thenbring it back to pitch
firmly will also releave the problem.
