Fausto Good advice from Bob Davis and others. I'd certainly try these things first but my best guess is that you'll end up replacing both of them. I have heard that Yamaha has changed the bass scaling on the C3 a total of seven times and that the identifying key for your particular scale is the letter that preceeds the serial number. Were it to happen to me I would take measurments of all the bass strings, feed the information into my PSCALE computer program and come up with a core size and wrap diameter that would match the characteristics of the existing scale. If you don't have this program there are companies in the states like MAPES that can make you the strings if you identify the particular scale previously mentioned. By the way these companies like Mapes only recognise the NUMBER of the string. You count every string (not the nore) from the left until you arrive at the two strings in question. You may already know this, but I feel obligated to mention it anyway. Good luck Hope you get it straightened out Ralph Martin
