Hi Mark,
          Rebushing the felt won't solve the problem even if the trap
work needs rebushing. Heres a possible solution. Remove the wooden
lever,
take a set square and mark through the centre of the pin hole and along
the surface parallel to the hole, drill a small hole for a set screw.
file off thesharp tip of the screw. Presto the problem will not reoccur.
 The other solution but not as effective is to use and over sized hinge
pin.  While your at it check the mounting blocks to ensure that they are
not moving  or twisting as that increases wear on the bushings and can
create some strange noises.
