On the plate it also says > "miniature".Looking inside, the player mechanisim has been removed. What > model is this? Year is 1912? The piano in question is probably an OR. It uses the model O scale. If this piano were properly and professionally restored, and a working player mechanism installed, it would be worth approximately $17,000 to $22,000 in the Northeast. Without a player mechanism, it would be worth about $4000 less. The work required to restore the piano would include capping the bridges, restringing, a new pinblock, complete action overhaul and replacement of worn parts, refinishing, regulation and tuning, etc. Retail for this work would probably run $8000 to $10,000. One way of figuring value is to subtract what it needs from what it would be worth if it were as good as it could be. So, as the piano stands, it is probably worth $5000 to $8000. Wholesale, the piano would go for half this amount. In different regions, prices vary. Finally, consider that this is free advice, and worth what you paid for it. No reasonable appraisal could ever be done without seeing the piano. Frank Weston
