No one likes getting stiffed on an appointment, especially if it's quite a distance from home. One tech, whom I believe might be still on the list, had a unique way of dealing with the problem one time. In a post that appeared here about a year and a half ago, or so, he described the situation like this. He had an appointment scheduled for a FULL DAY'S WORK, with a customer who lived quite a distance away. He HAD confirm- ed the appointment a day, or so earlier, but when he got there no one was home. No note. No nothing, He got stiffed, pure and simple. A whole day lost. Remaining cool, calm and collected, he nevertheless wanted to leave the customer a reminder that he had been there for the scheduled appoint- ment. He pulled his vehicle onto the customer's front lawn and repeated- ly gunned the engine, spinning the rear wheels and leaving behind an un- mistakable message that even an inconsiderate blockhead could understand. True, this might seem a LITTLE extreme to some, but I can sympathize with him completely. Probably Newton could, too! Les Smith
