That was me.  You must be confusing a scissor jack with something else.  A
scissor jack is operated by a worm gear type mechanism and usually has nice
fat, flat surfaces both top and bottom.  A piece of wood on top completely
protects the pinblock from any gouges the jack may cause.  This system is
very positive and strong and I would use it over any of the methods sold by
Schaff and others.
