My cell phone provider 360 Communications has implemented a security
feature so that I have to register an PIN when I go to a city where cloning
has been prevalent.

Unfortunately, that came about AFTER I'd been cloned while on a vacation
trip to Las Vegas. I only used the phone once on the entire 3 week trip
but they got me. My next bill showed over $100 in calls in Southern
California. I immediately called the provider. They changed my number and
removed all of those calls from my bill.

Add to the evidence some calls originating from the
> metro Detroit area within the same hour as a roaming call originating
from
> Massachusetts.

My trip to Detroit after my cloning experience was when I encountered the
security set up from my provider. It took a few minutes to verify my
identity and establish my PIN but everything has gone smoothly in Detroit
since then.
