Using a nail or similar object you can be assured that the plate / pinblock relationship is presicely the same. You can drill two holes through the plate around the rim bolts to align the plate to the rim and bridges. Usually technicians use tuning pins for this purpose. Once these holes are drilled, have no fear about drilling holes in the plate, after all, the manufacturer drill several hundred of them in the plate themselves, you can remove the plate and the block with no fear of not being able to relocate them.
