Hamburg strings sizes

Dear Jim,

The Hamburgs that I have measured have metric sizes, although the gauge
numbers on the plate correspond to the New York scaling for the same model.
In other words, most sizes up until about 13 1/2 or so are approximately
one-half size smaller than their American counterparts.

I would carefully measure the original wire if it is still in place.
