Hi all, A customer's daughter is doing a physics project on the various sound qualities of pianos. When she called me, the first thing that came to mind was someone's class I went to on piano sound using a frequency spectrometer ......... a fancy oscillascope with memory and the whole bit. We saw the difference hammers made and how certain harmonics were either suppressed or enhanced. That class was a while back and I enjoyed it thoroughly but I don't remember much in the way of specifics. If any of you wish to help Jennifer out, her email adr is rweiner@teleport.com I suggested she make up a spectrometer like graph ..... but as soon as I said that, I realized she probably doesn't have a clue what that is and so I ask my good friends of the internet to lend her a helping hand if you have the time. She's prepared to receive any BMP files any of you might wish to make up. Finally, if any of you have any further brainy ideas that would enhance her grade point level on this project, FIRE AWAY!!
