Want to know the latest about what's happening in Providence in July? For up-to-the minute info about the classes for the Providence Institute, check out the web site for the Piano Technicians Guild Annual Convention at www.ptg.org/1998/conv/ (or go to the Piano Page at www.ptg.org and find the 1998 Convention link). At the web site you'll find tons of information about the city (including maps and tourist info), the hotel and convention center (including pictures), and the conference (including the schedule of events). Read about the Mason & Hamlin factory tour and the Gallery of Rebuilders. While you're at it, you can look at the instructor bio's, too. Best of all are the classes--you'll find more than 115, including the Rebuilding Skills Workshop, Applied Skills Class, Bruce Hoadley, the Festival of Temperaments, Cybercafe, and more. The 75 classes that have never before been taught at an Annual are marked with a special "new" symbol. Many of your questions will be answered on the site's FAQ page (frequently asked questions), but you can also send email directly from the Web page to the convention coordinators. The RI Convention web site is constantly being updated and expanded. So if you want to stay up to date and in the know, check us out on the Web. Evelyn Smith, 1998 Institute Director
