Montal instructions

     I spoke with Bill G. two years ago, shortly after he had tuned according
to the Montal instructions.  He stated that the resulting temperament was
very, very close to the modern ET.  
      This does not mean that the average tuner was using these instructions.
They are much more difficult to use than the average MT or HT, and just
because they were published does not really support that they were in use.  
      We are not going to resolve much on the historical questions of
temperament without listening to music performed on them.
