Any piano dolly will work well on grass if you put down a sheet of ply on
which it can roll. Go to the lumber yard and pick up four 4x2 sheets of
5/8 ply. If you have to move on a rough, soft, irregular or difficult
surface, use the ply to make a causeway. With three people the move goes
quickly, even with the biggest and most difficult pianos. Two people roll
the piano, while one maintains the causeway, moving one sheet of ply from
back to front as long as needed. Two people can do the same job, but it
goes slower.

Another hint. If you are moving on a surface with a slant to the side, a
dolly without castering wheels makes life a whole lot easier.
