Henry: First suggestion, you should get the Written Exam Resource Guide from the PTG home office. Everything you need to know is in there. Regarding the rep springs, you will get some bobbling even if the springs are adjusted properly. As long as they don't hit the strings, it's okay. The hammers should rise after you release the key, but they shouldn't jump up. Then they are too strong. Also, the checking distance should be noted. If the backchecks are not regulated properly, the hammers may check too far from the strings, or too close, and the spring tension can't be regulated properly. If they check too low (too far from the strings) the spring will be too much compressed, and may jump when the key is released. Also check to make sure the backchecks are lined up with the hammer tails. E-mail me if you like privately if you like. Be glad to answer any other questions. Paul McCloud
