Sohmer

Wasn't Sohmer one of the manufacturers who did not use 1/2 sizes of piano
wire?   That is to say, 13, 14, 15, 16... never using 13.5, 14.5, 15.5 and
so on.  Certainly the scale can be improved, but why did Sohmer not use all
of the wire sizes?? Anyone on the list have thoughts on this??
