Key dip is a variable. Like Del, I have several, all wooden measuring from .375" to .411". Measure at the very corners on both sides and sand to an even thickness. Dip is measured at the very outside edge of the keys with considtant pressure on the keys. Having several dip blocks allows ease of trying different dips to get the touch desired. Also, one can put an extra punching in if the block in use is too thick or take a punching out if it is too thin. It is a good idea to go back and check the dip on all the white keys to make sure they all are the same and then use three fingers to press three keys down and check those three keys for evenness of dip. If the block is thick, sand it so it is flat then sand it so the four outside corners are even at each end. Newton
