Dear Les, I am assuming the new strings have looped tails already. I would first put the rail in a vise with the loop up and use a light hammer to round out the loop from it's current tear drop shape. If this were insufficient I would then take a half turn (or less if it fits) then round out the hole. You might consider getting a pair of piston ring expanding pliers to spread the hole. If these strings have no loop, I cannot help you. Newton
