I too use the heat gun..very carefully..and I heat the knife blade, they really just "slide off with the blade at the right temp and correct hot air from the gun. Didn't see the Guild stuff, but some of the old keytop material is not from my experience flammable it's "bloody explosive". Get plenty of air with this stuff, and use caution. Gregory
