headphones for the pianist would look odd, though I have seen some drummers with them. Brian I have long been of the opinion that drummers are brain damaged. This has been born out by drummers going into a closet sized insulated practice rooms and drum so loud they can be heard all over the building with ear protection. On stage they don't know how to moderate their noise or how to integrate themselves with the other performers for a balanced sound. Like I said, brain damaged. I have known and worked with some absolutely magnificent percussionists, bright, musicians, skilled and educated. Drummers are not the same. I cannot understand how churches, expecting stage level performance, will buy the smallest, cheapest toys for a piano and expect it to endure through some of the most brutal abuse given ANY piano. The only defense is to cripple the piano and hopefully the bangers as well. Just some friendly observations for a sunny warm Sunday while the ice melts. Newton
