Hi Orlando again:

PTG is not required to train anyone, however in order to promote higher
standards of service to the piano owning public, we do publish a number
of materials which are for sale. Obviously, being on this PTG sponsored
email list, you are able to benefit from our written material. PTG
publishes the P-A-C-E lessons on various aspects of profession. These
may be purchased. Write the home office for a list of these publications.

I don't know what part of the world you live in, but most local chapters
of the Guild have regular monthly meetings where technical information
is readily exchanged. There are many regional conferences and seminars
where one can find excellent classes on all phases of our work. Next,
you could subscribe to the Piano Technicians Journal where you would
find much useable information. Better still, you could apply for membership
as an Associate member which includes the Journal. In this Journal, you
will find listings of Technical residence schools, Correspondence Schools,
Conferences and Seminars.

Okay, for one more shameless commercial, Superior Instructional Tapes has
video tapes in which you can see the actual procedures being done. I'm
not sure just how this would be translated to you by your helpers, but I'm
sure there would be some value for you.

I forgot to mention that in this Country there are some excellent schools
for blind technicians. The one I know the best is Emil Fries School of
Piano Tuning & Technology. Their location is 2510 E Evergreen Blvd.,
Vancouver, WA 98661. Their Phone is 360-693-1511.
