I assume you're not just shoving up to a sheet rock ceiling.

On the table saw, with the blade set really shallow, we cut (kerfed)
notches across a couple of panels, and stuck 'em up on the ceiling to act
as go-bar anti-skates.

Clear as mud, right? Sorry.
