This was pointed out to me that in S&S there are four turns in the treble,
and only three in the tenor and bass.  However I didn't get the
explanation why. Soooo every time I see one.......... if I remember...

I'll guess , maintaining tops of pins with string height from plate. Or a
strictly esoteric Steinway practice.
