List, I was just called upon to look at a "scratch on top of the lid" of an Ebony gloss YC Grand. The scratch was created recently by a student goofing around the piano. The band director says he'll make the student's family pay for it. So......I've never dealt with refinishing. What materials do I need and how should I repair a scratch on this piano? I have to look at the piano tomorrow (Friday) and give them an opinion and estimate. My estimate will probably only include the cost of my materials and no labor if the materials are high. I service the school's pianos regularly and would hate to lose this job if it's something I could accomplish in a short amount of time. The director says he wants to "repair it right."
