> Is there a commercially available broken tap removing tool? Yes there is. Cut a slot into the tap with a moto tool and small cut off blade to take the tip of a good slotted screwdriver. I would also suggest the use of some Liquid Wrench to encourage it to move. Get an impact screw driver so any amount of force can be applied as needed. It is not great problem if you cut a little into the plate. Fill with Bondo and paint over it. I have used this technique to remove a broken screw in a grand damper block. Newton
